This coffee comes from 7 small farms around the village of Planadas, located in the La Cumbre municipality in the renowned coffee region of Tolima.

Planadas is a relatively young village, founded as late as 1966. The first settlers here were pioneers from Antioquia and Huila, and it wasn't long before coffee became the area's most important crop. Today, Planadas is a vibrant trade center where coffee farmers on the slopes beneath the Cordillera Central cultivate high-quality coffee and other raw materials.

The combination of high altitude, warm days, cool nights, and young, healthy coffee trees gives the coffee from this area a truly exceptional quality and flavor profile. The farms from which we purchased this lot of coffee are also both organic and Rainforest Alliance certified.
