Ethiopia Banko Gotiti
A floral and juicy coffee with notes of black tea, stone fruit, and ripe berries.
District: Yirgacheffe, Gedeo
Variety: Heirloom
Process: Washed
Producer: Museyid Sermelo
Banko Gotiti is a washed coffee with an unusually clean, elegant, and characteristic flavor profile. The coffee is grown in the renowned Gedeo zone in Ethiopia, on small family farms located 1950 to 2100 meters above sea level. Here, coffee plants grow in the shade of indigenous trees and "false bananas" (a traditional agroforestry method), which allows the cherries to ripen slowly and develop wonderful sweetness and complexity.
This lot is collected from small farmers in the surrounding area and processed at the Banko Gotiti washing station, which has been a beacon of quality in the region since 2009. After the coffee is wet-processed to highlight its clean and fresh flavor notes, it is gently dried under the open sky on African drying beds for 10-15 days. The result is a brilliant and transparent cup.
A lovely, fresh, and floral coffee, perfect for coffee lovers who appreciate Ethiopian specialty coffee at its very best!
